N E W S P A C E

I'm just barely giving y'all peeks to my space that I moved into not 3 months ago, and already I'm getting ready to move out! Elisha and I will be headed to sign the paperwork for our new apartment together today! I can't wait to have our new space. I'll get to live in it for a month before we get married; and hopefully make it feel like a home before he gets to move in.

So far we've purchased a new tv and a beautiful tv stand we found while registering at Pottery Barn. I can't wait to share peeks of everything. I've also been searching the internets to find perfect accent pieces, like wall art, pillows, rugs, etc. If y'all know of good shops, let me know! Although we've both lived on our own for several years, we've always had roommates and are kind of starting from scratch. Which I kind of love the idea of building our home together!

diy // doily display

I've been awaiting the perfect project to take on using my favorite thing to collect: doilies! This project is mega easy and is absolutely beautiful when finished!

you'll need:: brass hoops (found at your local craft store), doilies, needle + thread

easy as 1-2-3:: lay your doily inside of your hoop - it should be slightly smaller as it will stretch once you start the process. begin threading through the doily and looping around the hoop. be sure to tie of your thread nice and tight to make sure the tension doesn't make it unravel. you're done!

I finished these in about 30 minutes while watching a show and can't wait to make more!

I'll be moving this weekend and am excited to find a pretty place to hang these! If you do this super easy project, leave a link below - I'd love to see how yours turn out! Theirs so many different kinds of doilies, the possibilities are endless!

Have a sweet night! Melisa

new space

new space is a fun new feature that will let me share all of my favorite nooks in my home with you! Hopefully it will inspire you and your space!

This is my nightstand that sits next to my bed. It hold all the essentials for sweet dreams and pleasant mornings! I just love love this space in my room!

vintage 50's table  //  thrifted
lamp + frame  //  marshall's
white fox  //  target, given to me by the mr.
train case  //  used to be my grandmother's
candles  //  target + anthropologie
succulents  //  lowe's + diy
cd's  //  the beatles albums, given to me by my Dad

Reading through that list I see that this is probably my favorite space because it reminds me of the people I love who've given me such sweet and thoughtful gifts. Do you have treasured things that you've given a special space to in your home? Doesn't it just make your home feel more home-y??

Simplify: le room

one // I love waking up to photos and things crafted by my own two hands. I will always love that photo of me and the mr. I'm thinking it's time to add a few new photos though. Learn how to make those flowers here.

two // I've enjoyed putting my hands to embroidery and cross stitch; soon I'll be adding some to the shop! I love the simplicity of these little pieces; they're my little treasures.

three // placing little sweet notes from my family and friends is my favorite. It's good to remind yourself that you are indeed loved.

four // one of my favorite Liberty of London pieces; one day I'd love to pass it along to my little girl. I've been collecting doilies for the last 3 years. I'm not sure what I'll do with them, but I look forward to the future project and all the memories it will hold of special thrifting outings!

five // journals and books will always stay. I just detest getting rid of journals or books; they're just so... special! let's see how many times I can say that word, ha!

six & seven // perfumes are a slight obsession. I associate certain times in my life with different scents - they say it's the one sense that can bring back a memory the fastest. So I like to think of them as bottles of sweet memories past and some not yet made^_^

eight // I love having white space; it's all part of the declutter!

nine // love love this print that the mr got me for my birthday.

ten // the cutest purse ever that Adrienne gifted me.

eleven // transition pieces that still need to find a place to settle. I only have so much room!

twelve // I will always love baby's breath; it's so whimsical and pretty.

thirteen // jewelry and sunnies on collected and thrifted plates. I've been collecting plates for a few years now. Not sure what I'm saving them up for, but I love the idea of each one having it's own story.

fourteen // bringing out my balls of yarn. Fall means knitting and these colors are just perfection.

My space is slowly but surely coming along. These are just peeks; hope you enjoyed. Have you begun to simplify? If so, how is your space looking?? I'd love to see your progress, feel free to leave a link below!

fresh new space

The other day I decided my room needed some rearranging and was in need of a little freshening up. I always feel way inspired when I have a clean new space.

Maybe it's the new season, but I sure am excited for these next few months. I have so many ideas and dreams for Pie N' the Sky; I can't wait to start putting them into action. I feel more challenged than I ever have before to push myself and really create something I've always hoped for.

Happy weekend!
