In honor of Easter, I wanted to share some new iPhone wallpapers. I realize that not everyone shares my views, but can I just say, I love God. I love Him for all He has done in my life and all He continues to do. I'm so thankful for Jesus; for His love, for His sacrifice, and His grace. If you think God is a thing of mystery and something not for you, I would love to share my story with you. Because honestly, without the evidence of what He's done in my life and the lives of those I love, I probably wouldn't believe in Him either. I simply cannot deny the truth of His existence.

These carry the theme of peace; something God has been showing me so much of lately. Hope they inspire you daily. The first is actually a print I'm selling in my shop, but I really wanted to share it with you all!

lots of love to you. melisa

when I go away for long periods of time

Sometimes, just sometimes, I have a whole lot going on. It's not an excuse, but it's the truth and I apologize for not being around, for like 10 days. But, now we can play catch up! So here's the last 10 days...

I participated in the Walk The Light Festival and it was wonderful! Such a success! I was so lucky to have sweet friends come out and support Pie N' the Sky. I even made some new friends like AudreyAllie. And there's no way I could have gotten through the whole day without my kind and supportive mr. He was there for all 8 hours! I am so blessed.

I was featured on Arantha's blog! If you want to read about some of my beauty essentials, hop on over here! You can find so many other great posts on beauty and health from Arantha. If you're not already a reader, I suggest you start!!

I reorganized my room! I'll be moving out in the next month or so, so I'm trying to get everything organized and I have gotten rid of SO much stuff! I am planning on doing a full post on this very very soon; and I'll share pictures too, of course.

I took some photos of sweet Nadia who just turned one! She is absolutely adorable and her princess party was the cutest! I just love her family and felt lucky to be a part of her big day!

I kind of feel like this was the most productive week I've had in a real long time; it feels good! Did you have a productive week? Anything new and exciting in your neck of the woods??

I'll be back soon, with like, an actual, real post.

bits + pieces

Getting everything ready for Walk The Light today! I found the most incredible printing press drawer for my ring display; one of those pieces that I've been on the hunt for for years. I love how everything has come together and I can't wait to share how it all looks!

DIY // LACE POTS

I saw this diy awhile back on Elsie + Emma's blog and was just smitten! I've been wanting to try it out and with my time off during Spring Break I've had so much fun doing all the crafting I please.

THE SUPPLIES //
clay pots
mod podge
lace ribbon

THE PROCESS //
I used two designs and that was either putting lace along the rim, or setting the trim vertically. simply decide where you'd like your lace to go, use a brush to place a strip of mod podge and then place it on top. the mod podge will dry clear, so no worries there. side note, this will be the last project I make in bed because I poured half my bottle of mod podge ALL OVER my blanket. and then I died. aside from that incident, this was the easiest project ever! (I used this tutorial on ABM as inspiration)

These little beauties will be at my booth this weekend at the Walk The Light Festival. Again, if you're in the area, come say hi!

Happy Weekend!

now accepting design projects

I have done blog design work for a little over a year now, and I'm really excited to finally have more time to devote to it. I will now be accepting three design jobs a month. Having this set schedule, will help me stay organized and devote the time and energy each job deserves. If you are interested in having graphic design work done for your blog, lets talk! You can get some info on pricing and such here, or you can email me for more details!

So excited to work with you lovely ladies. Every time I design for someone, it's really like making a new friend and I love meeting all of you! Hope you're week is going great!

DIY // NECKLACE DISPLAY

I know I mentioned in my last post that I was gearing up to take part in an art festival this weekend, so I've been trying to get my booth in tip top shape! I already have a necklace holder, that the mr was kind enough to make for me, but I needed even more space for all of my new necklaces. I decided to whip something up, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

THE SUPPLIES //
slab of wood (I picked mine up at lowes)
stain (I used a shade called Kona)
rag and/or brush
nails

THE PROCESS //
begin by prepping an area to stain. for this piece I decided to just use a rag, because I really wanted an uneven look. although, for another piece I did, I used a brush and it was much more even and clean. I did about three coats of stain; obviously the more coats, the darker it gets, as well as how long you let the stain sit. once your piece is dry, begin to place your nails. I have a lot of different chain lengths, so I wanted my nails to be spaced out at different heights. now you are done and you can hang all of your pretty necklaces!

There are so many ways you can have fun with this diy and customize it as your very own. If you make one for yourself, I'd love to see how it turns out!

Just excited for what these next few months hold. I have so much planned, but I know there's so much that will happen that I have no way of planning for. Rain or shine, I'm excited for the future.

bits + pieces

Here's a few bits & pieces of what my days have and will continue to look like. I'm getting ready to have a booth at this year's Walk the Light Event! If you're from the area, you should definitely stop by and say hi! It's next weekend and I have oh so much crafting to do. It's actually been awhile since I've thrown myself into crafting like this - it feels really good. Now that Spring Break has started, I'm planning a quick trip to visit Adrienne in Austin and then enjoying the time off with my Mr. Do you have any fun plans for your break?
