S A L E :: mexican blankets

Alright friends! I have a few Mexican Blankets back in stock and they need new homes!

These beautiful, thick Mexican falsa blankets are the perfect accent to any home. They're perfect for days at the beach, picnics in the park, or keeping cozy on the couch!

Each blanket measures approx. 4ft x 7ft. Machine Washable. Weights 2.3 to 2.6 lbs. Durable and gets softer with each wash. Each blanket includes a list of care instructions. Patterns and stitching may vary, because blankets are hand made.

I'll be selling each blanket via instagram and there's only one blanket in each color. Each blanket is $30 and that includes shipping. Here's how it works - checkout my instagram (@pienthesky) this weekend  - I'll be posting each blanket individually - if you want it, leave your paypal email in the comments section of the photo. It'll go to the first person to comment with their email. Easy enough!

M A K E :: insta coasters

Since moving into our home, I have been on the search for the perfect coasters. I know, kinda strange, but our coffee table is glass and I hate those pesky water circles that are left behind. I found a few cute designs, but always felt like I shouldn't have to pay thaaat much for something that is keeping away condensation. Ya feel me? So, I decided to make some of my own and I'm way happier with this price and result.

S U P P L I E S :: white tiles (got mine at home depot for 13 cents each), Crystal Clear acrylic coating spray, black felt, mod lodge, (instagram) photos, scissors, hot glue (not pictured)

1) Cover each tile with a thin layer of mod podge and place your photo on top. Apply light pressure. Let the tile sit for about ten to fifteen minutes, giving your photo time to adhere to it.

2) Lay your tile down on the felt and cut around it. The felt will keep your coasters from scratching your table surface. Once you have enough squares to match your tiles, then take your hot glue gun and glue them in place. **You may want to cut your felt squares slightly smaller than your actual tile, to keep it from peeking out on the sides.

3) Use your acrylic coating spray to finish your project. Spray a nice and even coat on top of all your tiles. This will create a nice coat, to make sure that your photos aren't damaged by the condensation. This spray is kind of amazing. Let it sit outside for about ten to fifteen minutes, then you're all done!

I'm pretty smitten with how these turned out! I love that I was able to use all of the photos of Elisha and I drinking our bubble tea. It's kind of funny because I had about 15 more of these to choose from - we love our tea! You don't have to use instagram photos, obviously, but it's nice to have some that are cut perfectly to the right size.  These are a great way to personalize any home and would make a fun gift for a housewarming! And a huge perk is that this project only cost me a whopping $1.40!! So what are you waiting for? Go make some cute coasters!!

I love printic + giveaway

I recently discovered Printic and well, I'm just smitten! This is an app that allows you to print your instagram pictures - which is great in itself, but they come out looking like polaroid photos! I say yes. I just love the nostalgia of the polaroid photo, so I have a great appreciation for this sweet app!

I'm so excited that Printic is offering a giveaway to three lucky Pie N' the Sky readers! Each winner will receive three free Printics! To enter simply leave a comment and either tweet or facebook about the giveaway. Feel free to use this tweet: @melisashell is offering a sweet @PrinticApp giveaway on Pie N' the Sky!

I'll announce a winner on Monday! Good Luck!

life according to my iphone

Sometimes when I tweet or post a photo on instagram, I wonder what strangers think of me solely based on my words or photos. I usually talk or take pics of things I like or love; I thought I'd explain the following from this week....
I love love this photo of  me with Adrienne and my Dad.
I really really like my Blowfish boots!

 I like my new triangle necklace I found at an antique mall, like a lot.
I love when the leaves change colors.

 My current favorite mascaras.
I love not having to wear glasses. hooray for new contacts!

 I love rewards: new mag, loofah, silk boxes, gum. I'm a simple girl.
I like doing my hur. First time in like a week.

 I like not wearing makeup and lazy days ^_^
I love new crafts!

I sure do like that face!
I am now obsessed with celery. mmmmm.

And that my friends is what my photos say about me. If you'd like to follow me via instagram, my username is 'pienthesky'. go figure.
