DIY :: Gold Centerpiece

Since the Bridal Shower required peeks of gold throughout - I thought it would be fun to add a little floral element to make the black and white a bit less austere. I didn't want to just put flowers because that didn't really fall in line with the NY theme, so I went with something a little less floral and spray painted baby breath with gold! I loved the outcome!

Y O U  N E E D :: picked flowers, gold spray paint, jar/vase to hold

E A S Y  A S  1 2 3 :: pick your flowers  and trim if needed. lay your flowers on paper/bags  then spray paint. I did mine individually to make sure I got all the parts (which I still ended up missing a few). let them sit outside for about 15mins and then stick them in your jar!

These would look great for a wedding, birthday party or just to pretty up your home! Enjoy!

Fancy Felt Flower DIY

Sue, of Giant Dwarf shared this tutorial on Martha Stewart's craft blog, and I have been dying to try it for weeks now! I finally decided to give it a go. Instead of taking her photos, I decided to share a few of my own crafting adventure, but for the full tutorial and flower petal template, you can go here; I just eyeballed it^_^

Supplies //
felt ( I bought mine here)
small branches
scissors
hot glue

Step One //
Cut your felt into heart shapes for your flower petals and leaf shapes for your leaves (go figure). I used anywhere from 3 petals to 7 petals, depending on how fluffy I wanted the bloom!

Step Two //
Take your hot glue gun and dap a line along the bottom of the heart shape, then stick it onto the tip of your branch. Leave room for the end of your branch to show through the top. Then continue adding petals accordingly. Also, please excuse my tooootally chipping nail polish (shame).

Step Three //
Attach your leaves using the same method as step three. These can be placed anywhere on your branch. Get creative and add several of them!

Step Four //
Tie up your pretty new bouquet with a ribbon or yarn! Stick them in a vase or jar and you're all set! Enjoy!

Flower Crown DIY

Sometimes a girl just needs to adorn her head with a crown of flowers! It's such a rainy dreary day that I wanted to remind myself of the sunshine of Spring so I made this pretty floral crown. It's super easy and fun to make. I made this little pretty while watching a movie.

 Supplies needed: wire (yarn wire), scissors, fake flowers, wire cutters (optional)
1. Get all of your supplies. 2. Wrap your wire around your head to get the right size. wrap it around about three times to make it nice and sturdy. I used yarn wire that I got for a dollar at Michael's. 3. Cut off your flowers from the stem. Leave about an inch of stem to use to wrap around your crown. 4. Stick the stems between the wires of your crown. It's fun bunching them all up together. 5. Use smaller pieces of wire to secure your flowers by wrapping your wire around the stems to the crown. 6. You're done. Hooray!
