Rocksbox

I recently partnered with Rocksbox and I received my first subscription box yesterday! I am really happy with the selection that was sent to me. If you're not familiar, you can read more about how it works here. Essentially, you take a questionnaire so that your stylist can get an idea of your personal style and jewelry preferences, then they curate a monthly box for you. Once you receive the box, you can essentially borrow the pieces for a month, send em back for a different selection, or buy the ones they sent you! I don't wear jewelry often, but when I do, I either like something very minimal, or a really great statement piece! I requested only silver pieces and focused on necklaces. You can see what they sent me below.

As a special gift to you, Rocksbox is offering a one month free subscription! All you have to do is enter the code "pientheskyxoxo" when you checkout. If you're not completely sold, try it out and see how you like it! I'm excited to wear these pieces and can't wait to see what they'll send me next! If you have any questions, leave em below!

bits + pieces

Here's a few bits & pieces of what my days have and will continue to look like. I'm getting ready to have a booth at this year's Walk the Light Event! If you're from the area, you should definitely stop by and say hi! It's next weekend and I have oh so much crafting to do. It's actually been awhile since I've thrown myself into crafting like this - it feels really good. Now that Spring Break has started, I'm planning a quick trip to visit Adrienne in Austin and then enjoying the time off with my Mr. Do you have any fun plans for your break?

12 Days of DIY // jewelry book box

This DIY was one of my most favorites to work on and I'm just smitten with how it came out. I love books and decorating with them is so much fun. This little jewelry box has added so much to my little nightstand!

SUPPLIES //
book - I used a vintage book I had found at an antique mall
exacto knife - you can pick one up at your local craft store

1) First, I cut a rectangle shape onto the first page of the book. You don't have to press too hard when using your exacto knife and if you'd like to use a stencil for your first cut, that would probably help. 2) Then slowly begin cutting through the pages. As you cut, pop the rectabgle shapes out from the middle. 3) The edges can get a little righ, so make sure you take your time. This project takes a little bit of patience, but it's worth it! 4) Once you've gone deep enough, then go back through and cut some of those rough edges that may have been left.

I made this while watching a show; it takes some time, but as I said, it's completely worth the time! It would make perfect gifts for friends or sisters! I just love mine and can't wait to make more!

I think this is an awesome way to wrap a necklace or ring you may be giving someone this Christmas! Also, this would be such a sweet way for someone to propose, don't you think??

true to you

I've shared these necklaces before, but I thought you might like to see some of the new ones I created for the upcoming Renegade Craft fair!

The idea behind the "true to you" necklace is simple; it's about displaying who you are, who you want to be, or who you need to be reminded to be. Not all days do I feel brave, but when I look down at my little charm, it serves as a reminder that I need not shy away from adventure, but to run towards it and Be Brave.

Each of these little beauties are handcrafted with love. I like to think of the girl that will buy them, as I craft each one, choosing the appropriate beads and placing it on it's chain. I love each one, because they carry with them a story. They may some day change the way a girl sees herself, or remind a stranger of the beauty they have within them, as they reach out and ask, "what does your necklace say?" Yes, I'm just smitten with these.

I currently have several in my shop and will be adding more just as soon as the Renegade Craft Fair is over (this coming weekend!) But, if you'd like to place a custom order, feel free to email me at Melisaholguin@gmail.com

Hope your week is off to a lovely start! My friends and I have fun dinner plans for tonight - I can't wait to share!
