P I N S P I R A T I O N

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

Your day is what you make of it. I know the pangs of the mundane and routine, but I also know the beauty of hard work and humble beginnings. There's magic all around us, if we will only stop to take notice. I spent some time on Pinterest yesterday and found so much inspiration. I wanted to share some of it with you.

I've been trying to find artwork for the new home - which I move into in two weeks! I'm excited to decorate the space and especially thrilled to have a nice little workspace that's all my own. Kelli Murray gave me some serious inspiration with her home tour. I'm also pretty stoked to have a full kitchen to myself and I can't wait to try some new recipes!! To see more of my recent inspiration, visit me on pinterest!

What's inspiring you these days?

P I N S P I R A T I O N :: wedding edition

1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 5 . 6 . 7 . 89

Wedding planning has been so much fun! It's gotten to a point where we have most everything set in place and now we get to dream about the little details and decor. I love coming across great ideas, but my biggest task is finding things that are "us" and not just something I think is cute. Here is some wedding inspiration I've come across - elements that aren't necessarily us, but I still think are wonderful. Perhaps it'll be helpful for you!

Color Crush :: Rust

1. 23. 45.

I'm not usually a huge fan of red, but as of late I can't get enough. Furthermore, I am obsessed with this rust color! Again, this is generally more of an Autumn hue, but with the right pops of color, it works as a great compliment! So what are your thoughts? If you can't get enough of rust either, check out my Pinterest board here.

Sunnies are maybe my favorite part of Summer! I have a wide collection and yet I continue to add to it each year. These are some of my favorites, and I will probably be adding a pair (...or two!) to my own collection! I've had my eye on 3 and 5 for quite some time! Which are your favorite?

If you'd like some more sunny inspiration, you can check out my pinterest board!

color crush :: forest

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Although forest green may be considered more of a Fall color, I think i'll be rocking it this Summer. I think a nice forest color goes perfectly with softer, sunnier colors - it's the perfect compliment. If you're smitten with forest and are wanting to see more, you can check out my pinterest board here. enjoy!

 I've had a long time love affair with mustard, and although the name may not sound so appealing, the color is perfection. I love that it's a color that can transform into any season and how well it seems to compliment every shade. in case you're obsessed with all things mustard too, you can check out my pinterest board here and peruse to your heart's content

color crush

1 / 2 / 3 / 4

lately I've been pretty obsessed with gold. growing up I always felt like gold was so "old", so I only wore silver cause it meant I was still young. also, I was a weird kid, in case we haven't discussed that before. SO, I now am fully in love with gold and no, I am not old. in case you're obsessed with all things gold too, you can check out my pinterest board here and peruse to your heart's content.

DIY // NECKLACE DISPLAY

I know I mentioned in my last post that I was gearing up to take part in an art festival this weekend, so I've been trying to get my booth in tip top shape! I already have a necklace holder, that the mr was kind enough to make for me, but I needed even more space for all of my new necklaces. I decided to whip something up, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

THE SUPPLIES //
slab of wood (I picked mine up at lowes)
stain (I used a shade called Kona)
rag and/or brush
nails

THE PROCESS //
begin by prepping an area to stain. for this piece I decided to just use a rag, because I really wanted an uneven look. although, for another piece I did, I used a brush and it was much more even and clean. I did about three coats of stain; obviously the more coats, the darker it gets, as well as how long you let the stain sit. once your piece is dry, begin to place your nails. I have a lot of different chain lengths, so I wanted my nails to be spaced out at different heights. now you are done and you can hang all of your pretty necklaces!

There are so many ways you can have fun with this diy and customize it as your very own. If you make one for yourself, I'd love to see how it turns out!

"The best is yet to come"

Today I am inspired by patience. There is a silent strength that lies in those who wait on the Lord. In those who put their hope in the unseen and await the promise of tomorrow with eagerness and a steady heart. It's in this concept of patience that proves we are not alone and there is indeed a God who is on our side. Take heart.

A DOSE OF PINSPIRATION

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

"Don't worry about things that don't worry about you"

Today I am inspired by the beautiful world around me, by the ups and the downs, the twirls and the whirls. By the beginnings, the middles and the ends. By the unknown and the perfectly known. By the unexpected, but even more by the expected, because it's in the normal that we find a beauty that only belongs to us.

pinteresting

1, 2, 3, 45

I opened up a pinterest account about 3 years ago, but usually just paroused for enjoyment and never actually pinned anything. Mostly because I hated being asked the question, "oh, did you get that from Pinterest?" whenever I would create something. My answer was always a resounding no. I hated that my creativity was now being second guessed because of this site. I loved the inspiration it provided, but felt like it squelched my own personal creativity. I also didn't care for the fact that so many great ideas were being "stolen" because there was no proper linking - so I never really took part in it.

Well, over these past few months I've come around to the idea more. If done correctly, Pinterest can be a really great tool for inspiration and let's just say, I'm on board now. Being inspired by ideas is completely different than taking ideas, and as long as you know the difference, then pin away!

As of late, I've been pinning up a storm. Sometimes during my day I have a free hour and I go a little pinterest crazy! I love creating my little space now and I find it to be quite the stress reliever. I'm such an organizer, so I think it's the best that I can keep all of my things in one place. SO, all of this to say, I have a Pinterest, and now I use it. a lot.
