Collections: Cameras

The first collection I'd like to share with you is my camera collection. It's fairly small compared to others i've seen, but I have some good ones^_^

My Mr. gifted me this Diana last year for my birthday. I love love it and the color is exquisite. I've yet to develop my film, but plan to very soon!
I bought this Holga as a reward for completing a pretty big project last year. I love Holga and the photos look great. It takes awhile to get used to, but I definitely suggest it to anyone who's interested. OH and now they have a bunch of pretty new colors.
I got this ammaziiing camera from my brother's girlfriend for Christmas and I LOVE it!! I had been wanting one for a reeeally long time and I was ecstatic when I unwrapped the box^_^ It's perfect and if you don't have one you should definitely get one!
I bought this polaroid camera when I was about 14. I fell in love and used up all of my allowance on film. I was so sad when they discontinued the film and now I just enjoy looking at it. It really sparked my love for cameras^_^
I purchased this beauty this summer after a long debate as to whether or not I would buy an SLR or something a bit less pricey. I opted for this Sony camera after I saw how it shot and how great the quality was {the price wasn't half bad either}. I plan to get an SLR once I have more time to actually enjoy using it to it's fullest potential; most likely after graduation.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my first collection. For those of you who are interested, I tend to use my Sony camera for most of my shots used for the blog. I also like to use my nifty iPhone for simple on the go shots. However, I tend to carry both my Sony and Instax with me at all times; which makes my purse a joy to carry. ha. What are some of your favorite cameras to use? Any that I should add to my collection?

Will Work To Go

A very talented photographer and friend of mine, Shannon Varis, has embarked on a project with Travis Oberg {a wonderful musician} to go to the Philippines. They will be working with HOPE FOR THE ISLANDS: helping out with an art school, doing music, photography and hanging out with kids, January 26th through February 11th. In an effort to raise funds to get to the Philippines they have created Will Work To Go; a joint effort to trade their work for donations to go on this volunteer trip.

You can donate here or to get more information you can visit here.

With what you give, you will not only be helping them get to the Phillippines, you will also get really neat stuff! In the right hand corner of the picture above, you can see what your trade will be.
I challenge you to give what you can, and if not through donation than through prayer. I believe in what Shannon is doing and think that many of us should challenge ourselves to do the same; get outside of the box and put others before ourselves. Shannon has used her unique gifts and talents to raise funds to go volunteer halfway around the world. She is making a difference and using her creativity to do so. I love this and I hope you're inspired to use your creativity for good!

Collections

So I'm kind of crazy for collections. I've been this way since I was a kid.... My first collection was of penguins. I had everything from stuffed animals, to figurines, to butter knives {yes, I had butter knives in the shape of penguins! haha!} SO instead of sharing with you all at once all of my collections now, I've decided to create a bi-weekly post entitled collections, in which I will share with you my latest and ever growing collections^_^ My first collection will be coming to you this coming week and I can't wait to share!
Here are some pretty collections I stumbled upon...

{brooches}

{stamps}

{spoons}

{sunglasses}

{coin purses}

{doilies}

{globes}

{diamond rings}

I would personally love to have that final diamond ring collection, but that's just me! Those rocks are HUGE! What are some of your favorite collections??

2011

So I don't think I've mentioned just how excited I am about this year. I've had some pretty great years in the past, but I think 2011 is going to be one of my favorites. I have an incling that there are going to be lots of changes, new adventures and just all around goodness. Anyone else with me on this?
I know for certain that there will be several things coming to a close and also many things just beginning! For starters, it's my senior year! Hallelujah! I have been in school for what feels like forever and I am more than ready to see what's next. I still have much to get done, but instead of feeling anxious and overwhelmed, I've decided to simply enjoy and take heart in knowing that God is with me.
I also can't wait to see what happens with Pie N' the Sky. The blog and shop have already exceeded all levels of my expectations and from here on out I'm kind of just going where the wind takes me. It's kind of surreal at times.
I'm excited for the mister and the new adventure he's going on and also can't wait to see the next phase of our journey together.
I'm just thrilled about this year! Can you tell?? I don't usually feel this way at the beginning of the year, that's why I know there's something special about this one. I think I've made my point^_^ Just thought I'd share with you. OH and I saved the best for last... all of you! I am so thankful and excited to have the readers that I have. It seems like followers are growing daily and it means the world to me that you sit down to read my blog! I'm excited to meet more of you and get to know those of you I do know, better! Thanks so much!!  Here's hoping this year is wonderful and memorable {in a good way} for all of us!!
