L E W E D :: Bridal Shower

My bridesmaids threw me the perfect Bridal Shower this weekend! I was so excited to share such a special day with ladies I love. We sipped a variety of teas and each girl got to keep her cup and plate as a gift! They interviewed Elisha and had him answer questions that they then asked me. Most of our answers were pretty spot on and some of them were just ridiculous. It's a pretty great feeling knowing the man you're about to marry knows you so well... and still loves you! I love that we'll be able to share this video with our kiddos one day.

Lately, (especially after this weekend) I have just felt so blessed by the incredible people that are in our lives. I was telling Elisha the other day, "we have a pretty cool life, huh?"To which he responded with a "yes!" It wasn't to brag or be prideful, but honestly a very humbling thought. I know that we have worked very hard, that we have been committed and obedient to where God has called us, but in the end, we are rarely deserving of the blessings He gives us. With each day, I learn that more and more.

We are now 37 days away and I couldn't be more excited!

M A K E :: lingerie garland

My best friend Kelsey is getting married in just a few weeks, so it's been so much fun planning her showers! For her lingerie shower, I wanted to add some cute decor, so I whipped up this super easy garland to use for the party!

Y O U  N E E D :: paper (experiment with different patterns & textures), scissors, sewing machine, thread

E A S Y  A S  1 2 3 :: begin by cutting out a template of your shape; you'll use this to cut out the rest. then begin to trace your shape onto the sheets. if your design is as simple as mine, then you may just skip the tracing step and just cut by laying the template on top, as you cut. ay your shape down on sewing machine and begin running it across the top. leave some space in between each shape to make it more loose, then add another shape and continue sewing. you can always sew a ribbon at the end of each garland, if you wish to tie it to something.

You can use this technique with any shape, for birthday parties, engagements or weddings! I'd love to see what you come up with! Leave a link in the comments with any photos you take!

DIY :: Gold Centerpiece

Since the Bridal Shower required peeks of gold throughout - I thought it would be fun to add a little floral element to make the black and white a bit less austere. I didn't want to just put flowers because that didn't really fall in line with the NY theme, so I went with something a little less floral and spray painted baby breath with gold! I loved the outcome!

Y O U  N E E D :: picked flowers, gold spray paint, jar/vase to hold

E A S Y  A S  1 2 3 :: pick your flowers  and trim if needed. lay your flowers on paper/bags  then spray paint. I did mine individually to make sure I got all the parts (which I still ended up missing a few). let them sit outside for about 15mins and then stick them in your jar!

These would look great for a wedding, birthday party or just to pretty up your home! Enjoy!
