a day on the road

Last weekend the mr and I took a little road trip to see his mama and her pups! Her and her husband breed maltese and they are just the sweetest!! Luckily, we went to visit when they had a brand new litter that I got to hold (for only a little while)! It was perfection. Spending time with family is always fun & car rides with your best friend are the best.

I have the entire day off today, so I'm hoping (fingers crossed) to not only get a lot done, but to reopen the shop! I have so much I need to update, but hopefully by tonight there should be some new lovelies in there! hooray!

a simple lunch

I like to have a lot of different flavors when I have my meals, so when creating my lunch I like to have smaller portions of different veggies and fruits - healthy snacks are the yummiest. The Mr. says I eat like a bird. I thought I'd share my lunch from the other day.

1 - 4 Cucumbers A La Mexicana - I always grew up eating cucumbers like this and only realized a few years ago that this is not a normal way to eat them. I like to slice my cucumber, place them atop a plate,  squeeze lime juice over them, pour chili powder and salt, and enjoy! Your life will never be the same again.

5 Cut up some fresh berries for something sweet! I like to add a dash of organic sugar - cause I have a real sweet tooth!

6 - 7 With extra cucumber slices I popped em into some ice cold water to add a little freshness - it's the best. And since I love love lime with pretty much everything, I squeezed a little bit in there too!


Nothing too fancy, but it was yummy. I also ate a sandwich, but forgot to photograph it, oops. Hope you have a lovely week my friends!

I'm seriously smitten with the maxi dresses and how long and flowy they are. I'm quite long myself, so these dresses fit me just right and I love love em! I think they're my new favorite summer trend. Any new trends your hip to this summer??

True days off are rare and when they come, they are so special. I enjoyed yesterday with a nap, some dawson's creek & a little embroidery. Guys, I'm totally hooked! I find stitching to be so so relaxing and I love how they come out. I just love crafting for fun and solely to make something pretty.

dinner and a show

The other day the Mr and I went to go see some of our friends perform at a really cool outdoor food trailer park. The food was yummy and the music was wonderful. Their band is called The Animal Family Singers and you can hear them on itunes, if you're interested. 

In other news, I realized that most of my newest creations are not cross-stitch, but in fact embroidery. (thanks  for the heads up) Either way, it's fun and yes, I'm still stitching away. I'll share my newest ones soon! Have a sweet weekend!

cross stitch

I went on a little cross stitching adventure! Adrienne has been doing a lot of cross stitching as of late, and Kinsey shared this sweet diy and I couldn't keep myself from running to the store to pick up these supplies. I have no knowledge of cross stitching and decided to just wing it. It's one of the funnest crafts I've done. My projects were simple and a bit imperfect, but I think they're special and I look forward to making lots more.
